Who Is In The Vine?
Meet the passionate and experienced women of In The Vine Midwifery—dedicated to guiding you with knowledge, care, and compassion.

Andrea Roltgen, CPM, LM
Founder of In the Vine
Andrea Roltgen, CPM, LM, has called North Idaho home for over 20 years, where she lives with her husband and children. Her journey in birthwork began over 15 years ago, driven by a passion for women’s health, hormones, and holistic wellness. Called to serve, she became a Certified Herbalist, consulting with families locally and nationwide to help them take charge of their wellness, fertility, and family health—including perimenopause.
As a mother of 13, Andrea’s personal experiences fueled her commitment to ensuring the women she supported—along with herself—emerged healthier after each pregnancy. This dedication led her to earn certifications as a Birth Doula and Childbirth Educator (ICEA), gain extensive midwifery assisting experience, and ultimately become a Certified Professional Midwife (CPM) and Licensed Midwife (LM).
Andrea’s philosophy is rooted in helping women thrive during their childbearing years. She provides low-volume, personalized care that supports the whole woman—physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Utilizing herbal modalities and honoring the physiological birth process, she empowers families to make informed decisions within a framework of safety and responsibility.
When not serving families, Andrea enjoys homeschooling her younger children, spending time with her adult children and grandchildren, cooking, baking, gardening, swimming, and dancing to her favorite ‘90s music.

Jennifer Bookamer
Childbirth Educator
In 1995, Jennifer Bookamer was expecting her first child. With the support of her husband and midwife, she navigated pregnancy with excitement, yet she couldn’t help but notice a lack of encouragement from the women around her. Birth was often spoken about with fear, as something to endure rather than embrace. She wondered why this mindset was so common and why no one was sharing a more empowering perspective.
Thankfully, her midwife and husband became her guiding voices, reminding her that birth could be a positive, transformative experience. In March 1996, she welcomed her daughter into the world, and her birth experience was both joyful and strengthening. Inspired to change the narrative around childbirth, Jennifer became a certified childbirth educator in 1998. Since then, she has dedicated her career to educating families and supporting them as a doula, helping to cultivate a more confident and informed birth culture in her community.
