Andrea Roltgen, CPM, LM

Owner and Primary Midwife of In The Vine Midwifery and Peony Birthing Suites

Andrea Roltgen, CPM, LM, has called North Idaho home for over 20 years, where she lives with her husband and children. Her journey in birthwork began over 15 years ago, driven by a passion for women's health, hormones, and holistic wellness.

Called to serve, she became a Certified Herbalist, consulting with families locally and nationwide to help them take charge of their wellness, fertility, and family health—including perimenopause.

As a mother of 13, Andrea's personal experiences fueled her commitment to ensuring the women she supported—along with herself—emerged healthier after each pregnancy.

This dedication led her to earn certifications as a Birth Doula and Childbirth Educator (ICEA), gain extensive midwifery assisting experience, and ultimately become a Certified Professional Midwife (CPM) and Licensed Midwife (LM).

Andrea's philosophy is rooted in helping women thrive during their childbearing years. She provides low-volume, personalized care that supports the whole woman—physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

Utilizing herbal modalities and honoring the physiological birth process, she empowers families to make informed decisions within a framework of safety and responsibility.

Meet Our Midwife

Bailey Sonora, CPM, LM

Midwife at In The Vine Midwifery

Bailey Sonora, CPM, LM — In The Vine Midwifery

"Midwifery is a continuation of something women have offered one another across cultures and generations."

— Bailey Sonora

Bailey Sonora, CPM, LM, is a Certified Professional Midwife and Licensed Midwife whose path to midwifery grew from a deep interest in women's health, birth, and the disparities that continue to exist within maternal healthcare in the United States. Through this, she was drawn to a model of care where women are known, heard, and individually supported through one of the most significant moments of their lives.

Through a deep exploration of human history, Bailey came to understand the importance of carrying forward the traditions of midwifery. Across cultures, peoples, and places, midwives have attended and cared for women in birth since time immemorial — a relationship reflected in ancient art and traditions spanning generations. She came to see midwifery as a timeless profession, honoring the wisdom of midwives who came before us while embracing today's advancements in maternal and newborn care.

After nearly five years of rigorous training and dedication to midwifery, Bailey's own journey through pregnancy and birth became a profound culmination of that path. She experienced firsthand the reassurance, continuity, and presence that thoughtful midwifery care can provide, ultimately welcoming her son at a rural homebirth surrounded and supported by four midwives.

Experiencing pregnancy and birth from the perspective of a mother brought new depth to everything Bailey had spent years learning. It strengthened a philosophy that has become central to her practice: being thorough and attentive to maternal health is not contrary to honoring natural and physiological birth. Rather, Bailey believes the two belong together.

These experiences have also shaped the way Bailey regards birth itself. She believes birth is sacred — whether it unfolds at home, in a birth center, or in a hospital. For Bailey, becoming a midwife has felt less like choosing a profession and more like answering a calling to serve women and families during this extraordinary passage in their lives.

Bailey approaches each family with compassionate and individualized care, thoughtful communication, and respect for the decisions women make for themselves and their babies. She believes in protecting the space for physiological birth while remaining attentive, prepared, and responsive when additional support is needed.

For Bailey, midwifery is a continuation of something women have offered one another across cultures and generations. She feels deeply honored to carry this timeless work forward and to serve families with reverence for birth, careful attention to maternal and newborn well-being, and gratitude for the calling of midwifery.
